Project Outline

Project Disraeli phase one-Dock line was required to move product from UMS Regent Road terminal to Gladstone dock in order to facilitate the request of NBO to increase storage of PFAD at Regent road.

This required a new dock line to be run from the quay side 300m to the existing pipe bridge, over the bridge which required structural reinforcement and 350m along the railway, terminating at tank 104 which is a 30m diameter storage tank. Each end of the 650m pipeline was equipped with a newly fabricated 450mm pig chambers as shown on cover.

As well as the pipe line installation this project required the existing 30m diameter tank 104 to be converted from a gas oil storage tank to a molasses storage tank. This required the installation of 3 new import export shell nozzles and an air sparge system. Additionally as molasses requires a high level of tank ventilation we fabricated and installed 8no new dormer vents and a 400mm center cone strategically positioned to avoids the roof structural steels

This project required careful planning as there were many elements which affected progress such as the busy road, railway, fuel movements on quay side, peel ports and the normal site operations. However all of these factors which limited our progress were overcome by strict co-operation and communication between all parties
