Project Outline

The liquid process blending project was intended to increase the storage capability of UMS fats blending operations. This was achieved from the installation of nine new stainless steel tanks and process pipework. This also included a new import, export and steam infrastructure to be manufactured and installed

Due to inclement weather during the project in January and February 2014 we were faced with major delays. However by effectively surveying the site using laser technology we were capable of manufacturing 90% of the pipework in the workshop. With careful planning using charts we were able to effectively manufacture specific elements as required and install the new systems in order to meet the project deliverables on time.

Open lines of communication and co-operation between design and electrical contractors allowed for problems to be solved in a timely and effective manner where almost all coordination issues were resolved before they became a problem.

Conclusion

This project was successfully completed in March 2014; all work was carried out to relevant specifications and codes of practice. All project deliverables were met on time with 0 injuries.
