Pipefitter Coded TIG Welder

We have a position available for a pipefitter / coded TIG welder for permanent employment who hold an NVQ Level 3 in fabrication/welding or similar qualification.

Main Purpose

• To carry out pipe fabrication and welding duties with an emphasis on quality throughout, following established procedures and protocols always ensuring that customer’ and company requirements are met.
• TIG welding to a coded standard in 6G position in both mild and stainless steel.
• Working from basic sketches, piping isometrics and other technical drawings.
• All welding to coded standards.
• Working both on site and in the workshop.
• A practical weld test will be taken during the interview.
• Successful candidates will have to complete a trial period.

Key Tasks and Abilities

• Minimum 5 years’ experience TIG welding pipework.
• Valid site card (SPA/CSCS/CCNSG).
• Work well as part of a small well-established team and with other trades.
• Technical skills combined with practical know how are of high importance, with a requirement to pass on skills and knowledge willingly.
• Candidates must be able to work to timescales, using own initiative both individually and as part of a team.
• A positive attitude and proactive approach are also of high importance.
• Good communication skills are a requirement.
• Flexibility with overtime working is a requirement.
• Proof of previous codings beneficial.
• Willing to work out of town occasionally is a bonus.
